How to read an AI detector result
A higher score means the text more closely resembles AI-written content according to the detector. It does not say how many sentences AI wrote, nor how certain anyone can be about the author. The result is based on these five metrics, and you also get a plain-language explanation.
Language patterns
Does the text repeat connecting phrases? Does an everyday email sound like an academic paper? The detector notices patterns like these, including phrases such as “it is important to note.” One sentence like that does not prove anything.
Vocabulary diversity
This measures how often words repeat and how varied the vocabulary is. Very frequent switching between synonyms can raise the score. That does not mean varied vocabulary is a flaw or proof of AI use.
Sentence structure
This compares sentence lengths. If every sentence is similarly long, this metric’s score rises. A mix of short and long sentences lowers it.
Predictability
This assesses how easy it is to anticipate what comes next in the text. Predictable wording and word combinations receive higher scores. An unusual choice of words can lower the score.
Writing flow
This looks at pacing and how ideas connect. Higher scores correspond to even, smooth writing. Digressions, changes of pace, or abrupt shifts can lower it.
What signals the AI detector found
The explanation may tell you, for example, that the text overuses connecting phrases. The detector also looks for signals of human writing: colloquial expressions, personal memories, or typos. It reports the signals it found.

Is the result reliable?
Treat it as guidance. A detector can label human writing as AI, and it can also miss AI-written text. Do not draw a conclusion from the number alone, especially with short excerpts. It helps to know how the text was created or to review its drafts.
Does the AI checker work for text in your language?
Yes, you can paste text in your language. You can use other languages too; other language versions of this page are available in the language selector at the top of the page.
When is the paid version useful?
When you need to check a longer text or understand why certain passages were highlighted. The paid AI detector accepts up to 10,000 characters and lets you choose a text type, such as academic or marketing. It then tailors the analysis to that type. It uses a different analysis method and shows all five metrics as well as specific excerpts with explanations. You need an account and a paid plan.
What does the percentage score mean?
A higher score means the text more closely resembles AI writing according to the detector. For example, 80% does not mean that AI wrote 80% of the text. The number summarizes several writing characteristics; it does not identify the author.
Can the detector identify text from ChatGPT?
It may find signals typical of AI, but it cannot reliably tell which tool created a text. The result therefore does not confirm that the author used ChatGPT specifically. Edited AI text can also receive a low score.
Is AI detection the same as plagiarism checking?
No. This detector examines writing style. It does not look for text copied from the web or another paper, and it does not check whether citations are genuine. Sources and potential matches need to be verified separately.
How long should the text I paste be?
From 50 to 5,000 characters. A continuous excerpt works best, rather than a few sentences taken from different places. With a short text, the detector has less to assess. If you check only part of a document, the result applies to that part.
Can I use the result when reviewing a term paper?
Yes, as a starting point for a discussion with the author. A high score alone is not enough to accuse someone of using AI. Review the flagged features of the text, its drafts, and sources. Specialist vocabulary and a formal style are common in term papers.
